People who use the "children don't know any better" excuse for badly behaved children.
My friend Betty had a German Shepherd dog that had to be euthanized because it bit some stupid child that walked up to it and slapped it in the face.
And most people would say things along the lines of "well the child didn't know any better" or "animals aren't more important than people", but that's hardly the situation. The kid did something extremely stupid and there's no excuse for it. Humans should automatically know that something with teeth WILL bite: you don't have to be taught this. (And be aware, this kid was not like a newborn baby. This person was around five or six years old)
I've even seen people use this excuse for children who kill their parents, their siblings, or so on. People seriously say "they don't know any better" as an excuse for MURDER. It's sickening.
There is no excuse for a child to hurt animals, hurt people, or act badly in public. (Not counting babies who cry. I don't think there's much to be done about that. But children above 4 years old....)
It's even worse when people use the "they don't know any better" argument for teenagers.
I hate when parents basically reward their children when they do something bad, they just hug on them and tell the other person "Children don't know any better" Like when I was younger, my cousin scribbled all over a wall with a marker, she was about 6 years old. And my aunt just hugged her and was all forgiving and nice about it(not that its bad, but it didn't teach her not to do it again) and when her parents fussed at her, and my aunt told her parents "She's a child, she doesn't know any better!"
Agree, this is one of the things I don't like about are timeline. Parents are to lenient or irresponsible. Though people say that parents shouldn't use to much discipline. Which is it! Because it seems now that there is no spot good in my opinion.
I completely agree. When a kid does something "because they don't know better", It's you fuckin cue to TEACH them to know better! I remember when I was a kid, my dad taught my brother and I to behave in a young age. The least these parents can do is to teach their brats the same thing....
"not knowing any better" is the child's excuse, which leaved the "parent" without one. If the child is not taught to know better, it is an indictment of the parent. A parent should be ashamed that their kid does not know better, it means the parent has failed to teach them. To actually use this as an excuse is unacceptable.
So true! I hate it when kids get away with fucking EVERYTHING for the sake of being a cute little kid! They are so special, its age discrimination! If a six year old PURPOSELY breaks a vase its all "aww! Poor little kid!". If a teen were to ACCIDENTALLY break a vase its all "YOU LITTLE SHIT! I HATE YOU!". And yes, kids should know things that are dangerous or not. Its not the dogs fault for the ignorance and stupidity of not just the kid, but the parents that had the kid out of their sight. I hate little kids sometimes.
Slap and be slapped.

I'm sorry for your friend's dog
